Snow Plow

Meet Snow Plow, a brave little Serbian Highflier with a spirit as bright as fresh winter snow. This juvenile pigeon came from a heartbreaking situation- Snow Plow was nearly hard-culled by their breeder for having a splayed leg, a condition that often develops in babies due to poor nutrition. But when a family friend learned what was about to happen, she couldn’t bear the thought and rescued the tiny youngster. Unsure how to provide the specialized care Snow Plow needed, she reached out to DCPR, and this sweet baby has been safe ever since. Their sex is currently unknown.

Despite the odds, Snow Plow has shown incredible resilience. They use their bent leg for balance, fly confidently, and get around just fine with the right setup. All they need are grippy surfaces, like puppy pads, fleece, or fabric, to move comfortably and prevent slipping. Beyond that, Snow Plow requires no special medical care, just a home that understands their unique little stride.

Still a nervous baby, Snow Plow is figuring out the world one small step at a time. But with their young age and gentle nature, they have every chance to grow into a wonderfully adapted, loving house pet. For someone patient, kind, and ready to offer safety and softness, Snow Plow could become the sweetest companion you’ve ever met.

Note: Snow Plow is too young for shipping and would need local pickup until early 2026.
