babka
Meet Babka, a young, sleek black pigeon with charming muffed “slippered” feet and a spark of personality all their own. Hatched as part of the same unexpected “oops” clutch as their sibling Torte at a nearby wildlife facility, Babka arrived at DCPR full of youthful energy and curiosity. Their sex is currently unknown, but their character is already taking shape.
Like Torte, Babka is feisty and cautious, preferring to keep a bit of distance while they figure out this whole “humans are okay” thing. But Babka has been warming up a touch faster than their sibling, showing glimmers of interest, watching intently, staying a little closer, and slowly deciding that the people who bring the food might actually be worth trusting. They’re still shy, but the potential for a gentle bond is absolutely there.
With time, patience, and a calm environment, Babka could blossom into a wonderfully personable companion. For someone who enjoys earning the trust of a young, spirited pigeon, Babka offers the perfect mix of challenge and reward!
